frequency of marijuana use
Positive Marijuana is a social group dedicated to educating the masses of ALL the effects and attributes of marijuana usage.
Most people are aware of the surface effects of marijuana: hunger, sleepiness, short term memory impairment, and a general “high” feeling. What most people do NOT know and are never told, are the many medical applications of marijuana. Marijuana use was shown in a Harvard study to slow the growth of cancerous tumors. a 2003 study by Virginia Commonwealth University showed that marijuana can be used to treat epilepsy and other seizures. The study showed that marijuana was more effective than pharmaceutical medication at reducing the frequency and intensity of epileptic seizures in test rats. Marijuana relaxes the muscles and eases the spasms caused by seizures. The Mayo Clinic, in a 2006 online article, said that marijuana was recognized as a potential treatment for Glaucoma sufferers. The article goes on to state that “Researchers are working to develop medications containing cannabinoids that can be put directly on the eyes — to avoid the mind-altering side effects and other health consequences of smoking the plant.” Marijuana has also been shown to help some patients suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. Most patients feel their muscles loosen and feel their tremors improve. Former television host and Multiple Sclerosis sufferer Montel Williams is one of these such people.
More information on the possible medical applications on Marijuana will be posted as they are made available.frequency of marijuana use
